April 5, 2017 JS Registers Three New Technologies on its Innovation Program Leading-edge wastewater technologies achieve cost reduction

Japan Sewage Works Agency (JS) has been running JS Innovation Program* since 2011. The program aims to encourage the development of new technologies that meet various needs of municipal wastewater business and facilitate the adoptions of the innovative technologies to our entrusted projects.
JS adds the following three technologies in the program.

* Note that JS Innovation Program verifies registered technologies for their applicability only at JSf entrusted projects.

Sewage Sludge-derived Fiber Utilization System

Developer: JS, Ishigaki Company Ltd.
Summary and Features: The Sewage Sludge-derived Fiber Utilization System recycles fiber from primary sludge and adds it into sludge before they are supplied to dehydrator for the improvement of dewaterability. The system is expected to achieve cost reduction since it can reduce water content rate of sludge including hard-to-dewatered sludge, and chemical injection rate.

Inclined Plate Sedimentation and Separation Device for Final Settling Tank
Developer: JS, Aichi Water and Greenery Public Corporation, Sekisui Aqua Systems Co., Ltd
Summary and Features: Inclined plate sedimentation device is widely used for drinking water producing plants. The Inclined Plate Sedimentation and Separation Device for Final Settling Tank, or solid-liquid separator, is a modified inclined plate sedimentation device for a final settling tank of WWTP. The new device that needs no electricity improves treatment performance, or SS removal rate, and reduces costs with simple construction/retrofit.
