March 23, 2018 Demonstration Facilities for gTechnology for Local Energy Production and Consumption with Highly Efficient Digestion Systemh (B-DASH 2017) Completed

Japan Sewage Works Agency (JS) has been joining a collaborative research, gLocal energy production and consumption technology with highly efficient digestion system.h The consortium of JS; Mitsubishi Kakoki Kaisha, Ltd.; Kyushu University; and Karatsu City implements the demonstration adopted for B-DASH Project*1 2017 as contract research of National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management (NILIM.)

The Local energy production and consumption technology with highly efficient digestion system
The combination of three innovative technologies. The combined technologies attempting to improve digestion rate in the sludge treatment process is expected to reduce the sludge production. The demonstration verifies:
  • Utilization of local energy production and consumption by increasing biogas production and accepting local biomass
  • Establishment of the local contribution modeling system for a new town development

*1: B-DASH Project: (Breakthrough by Dynamic Approach in Sewage High Technology Project) has been conducted by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) of Japan. The Project aims to accelerate R&D of new technologies and their practical applications, enhance costs reduction in sewage works and the production of renewable energy, and facilitate the global presence of Japanese companies in their water business.
