February 26, 2020 JS Registers New Technology on its Innovation Program Variety of flocculation/dewatering technologies achieve water content rate reduction of hard-to-dewatered sludge

Japan Sewage Works Agency (JS) has been running JS Innovation Program* since 2011. The program aims to encourage the development of new technologies that meet various needs of municipal wastewater business and facilitate the adoptions of the innovative technologies to our entrusted projects.
JS registers the following technology on the Innovation Program.

Enhanced Hard-to-dewatered Sludge-adaptive Screw Press Dehydrator

Developer: JS, Kobelco Eco-solutions Co.,Ltd, and Hokuryo Co.,Ltd
Summary and Features: The new screw press dehydrator forms coagulation flock having good dewaterability by optimized flocculation and dewaters sludge with appropriate power depending on the shrinking of flock. The feature is effective especially for digested sludge which is hard to be dewatered. Compared to the conventional dehydrator, the new dehydrator enables the reduction of power, water content rate, and LCC.
